For one, time moves forward and very quickly replaces the previous 'title' holder. Second, the criteria is somewhat open for different interpretation: is it smallest in volume, thickness, length, width, or some even go to characterize lightness as one criteria for small - which is a dimensional property. Well, anything goes when it comes winning public opinion.

One of these 'smallest' ones as of this moment is the Elegance by Haier with 9.1 x 3.5 x 1.8 cm. The design is simply sleek and elegant, might even be mistaken as a digital music player.
